--- Comment #5 from gat gatlinsullivan@yahoo.com 2013-03-10 15:14:34 CDT --- Using Wine (1.5.25), I can play music on Songbird 2.2 and Nightingale 1.11.
I tested Songbird 1.4.3 - build 1438 (http://developer.songbirdnest.com/builds/Songbird1.4/latest/Songbird_1.4.3-1...). I tried to download 1.6(http://developer.songbirdnest.com/builds/Songbird1.6/latest/Songbird_1.6.1b1...) since there wasn't a 1.7, but I was blocked.
I am listening to music playing from 1.4.3 now. It actually works better than Nightingale 1.11. I was unable to install plug-ins/add-ons because I had to delete my "old" version of Songbird (2.2) which was incompatible. Songbird couldn't find the appropriate versions. Those may have contributed to the crash.
$ wine songbird.exe &> test.txt --played "Heart of Glass" by Blondie (.ogg) --closed Songbird $ cat test.txt | grep "fixme:ds" fixme:dsound:DSOUND_WaveFormat Limiting channels to 2 due to lack of multichannel support
There weren't any other fixme:ds...
If any one knows a confirmed location for Build 1700 (1.7.3), then share it and I will test 1.7.3
