--- Comment #2 from andy andy86@fastwebnet.it --- I remembered that I solved this issue before by reinstalling steam from scratch (see bug 50311), and the same thing worked again this time.
At any rate having now opened a dedicated bug, even if it will be closed because it is not a winebug, I can easily find the solution in the future if I need it again.
Just it puzzles me that steam checks all its files every time it starts, so if the problem is a corrupted file it should fix it automatically... why doesn't this happen?
