It works in the current version of CPUZ - 1.52. However, when I filed the bug, we were on version 1.45. I found a copy of cpuz_145.zip and that still crashes with Wine 1.1.27.
Confirming with wine-1.1.34-309-g9352509. Native comctl32 doesn't help, so it doesn't seem to be a control problem. On start it displays a message saying that 'A previous version of device driver is already running'.
The same in wine-1.3.21-92-gb6484cc.
