I should have added this in my previous comment:  I am running Wine 9.0 on
Gentoo Linux.  I just noticed that there have been considerable changes to the
fullscreen logic in later versions of Wine, so there may already be a fix for
this.

Also, upon looking at the date this was originally reported, my report is
likely similar, but not the same issue as this one.
