Is there a special reason for this? Normally on Wndows you don't need to do that too.
Windows does that for you sometimes, depending on how you start application.

Depends on how secur32 is used.
Also, have you tested this on windows. It could very well be a game bug
I have temporary fixed the both issues above and the crash still appears. Also I have asked a user to test this on Windows and the game never crashed for him. I don't even remember to have seen a bug report on any time about this on the official Guild Wars 2 forum.
Just to make sure, it's was a 64-bit system it was tested on?
