I guess you should try out the MESA drivers, it really looks like an Nvidia
problem to me.

I compiled the latest MESA drivers yesterday (20140620) and ran Hard Reset, no
problems with any shadows:

P.S.: I can't test with fglrx, can't get it to work for 32bit applications. The
closed source drivers from AMD are horrible.
