With the patch, when the video is set to play automatically, you can now pause it with the spacebar and exit the slideshow with the ESC key, so long as you never click on the app window with the mouse while it is playing. If you do, the whole program will freeze and have to be killed. When the video is set to play on click, you can start it with a mouse click, but any key presses or mouse clicks thereafter will freeze the program.
At the point it freezes, the console says err:ntdll:RtlpWaitForCriticalSection section 0x5828468 "dsoundrender.c: DSoundRenderImpl.csFilter" wait timed out in thread 003d, blocked by 0009, retrying (60 sec).
