The following is what happens when I apply the WIP patch. In fact just
returning the exit code of `S_OK` is sufficient to trigger this new behavior.

I am not sure if this moves things in the right direction or not? It could be
just that the WIP patch is leaving the data structures not in the right state?
I could not find more documentation around what exactly this method is actually
meant to do, please help?
