You should have marked the other bug as fixed. I've done that for you.
IE7 was suggested as a possible workaround. From what you say it just made things worse, but problems caused by using native dlls are not Wine bugs.
The priority of "normal" is correct for this bug. http://bugs.winehq.org/page.cgi?id=fields.html#importance
The AppDB has reports indicating that the IERenderer crashes Pegasus Mail, though no one seems to have filed a bug for that. They also state that the alternative BearHTML renderer works; try that in a clean wineprefix.
the IERenderer is integrated w/ Pegasus. it is not possible to uninstall it and it is not possible to install pegasus without it. 'wine uninstaller' attempts to uninstall the ierenderer but fails with a msg that an instance of pegasus is already running and must be closed. i confirm that pegasus was not loaded or running.
I had contacted the developer of ierenderer as soon as it was introduced and asked him how i can get rid of it since that is when i started having serious problems and reported them here in bugzilla. he said it was not possible to remove ierenderer, only to disable it. mine ierenderer has been disabled since day one and i dont use it as wine cannot deal w/ it properly.
i have followed your suggestion and installed wine into a clean wineprefix with only one application installed: PegasusMail - were back to stack overflow. i created another debug report for review and is attached.
would you know if this bug will be looked at soon as i am ultimately w/o email
