when attempting to use the latest version after the setup happens... its a grey
screen with no progress for a half an hour. if i force close it then it will
launch to a black screen and close. i checked other solutions but none seem to
help.

possible fixes tried 
disabling wifi. clearing data reinstalling
going into developer options. *(nothing to change in android 9)
