I was able to get the Trillian installer to run by installing a native winhttp.dll. I copied this from a Windows 7 x86_64 system.
Hopefully it won't hurt changing the component. Comment #5 confirms status=NEW (i could not reproduce in comment #4, but i'm running 32bit system).
