Alternatively, if you stick to the built-in secur32.dll, you can try adding the following entries to your /etc/hosts file, to deny access to the following servers:
127.0.0.1 media.madserver.net 127.0.0.1 imp.madserver.net 127.0.0.1 ad.madserver.net 127.0.0.1 locate.madserver.net
I tested this bug with the gog.com version of Far Cry2, Wine 1.7.4.
