I tested native WMI core some time ago, with mixed results. Maybe you ran into one of these issues.

If you encounter a specific crash/problem not mentioned, give more details. Specific the app download and provide bug trace.
In general I don't see the task of implementing WMI/core providers as short term goal .. maybe in the long run.
