--- Comment #23 from Anastasius Focht focht@gmx.net 2008-01-19 12:33:02 --- Hello,
well the single "create_nls.c" source file in question which is pulled by the shell script snippet reads as follows:
--- snip header --- /* * Tool for creating NT-like NLS files for Unicode <-> Codepage conversions. * Tool for creating NT-like l_intl.nls file for case mapping of unicode * characters. * Copyright 2000 Timoshkov Dmitry * Copyright 2001 Matei Alexandru * * Sources of information: * Andrew Kozin's YAW project http://www.chat.ru/~stanson/yaw_en.html * Ove Kõven's investigations http://www.ping.uio.no/~ovehk/nls */ --- snip header ---
So ask one of the authors/originators, Dmitry Timoshkov of codeweavers.com about copyright issues and implications. If he wrote this tool using publicly available information there seems no harm to incorporate his work in current wine source tree.
Another question is the use of unicode.org data (tables and mappings), though that can be answered by looking at http://unicode.org/copyright.html
And for the "instructions" part ... there is no need to bother babelfish for japanese translation, the short shell script is self explaining enough.
