Hello folks,

the issue is actually valid, see bug 47120 ("Multiple games using W3D engine
fail to start, reporting 'there was an error loading bhs.dll' (Wine's
'd3d8.dll' is preferred over native d3d8->d3d9 thunk dll of same name, causing
failure)(ECW, Red Alert: A Path Beyond)").

Although this bug report is much older, resolving as dupe of bug 47120 (has
more info).
