[Bug 19583] The Football Superstars updater endlessly loops attempting to update

Got Football Superstars to download and run using wine-1.3.30-45-ga843ace on
Ubuntu 10.04.

Unfortunately, no character models appear in the game and there is still quite
a bit of graphic corruption (skybox etc). On the character select screen your
character is invisible though you can still select it and enter the game
proper.

Once in the game you can't see any of the games player avatars though you can
still move around and you can see their shadows. Also, the in-game mouse is not
visible. I didn't even try entering a match...
