This commit causes a similar issue in Prince of Persia: The Sands of Time.
When I change screen resolution in the game, the mouse pointer and the whole
menu interface become invisible.

This game has a demo which can be used to reproduce the problem.

Launch the demo with PrinceofPersia.exe, create a new profile, go to Options >
Graphics, change screen resolution. Click on Back and confirm the new
resolution : as a result the menu interface becomes invisible.
