Sorry for the noise - had winecfg or winetrick doing msvcrt native by default,
and the native msvcrt was rather old (year 2000-ish).

278581 Mar  7  2000 ${HOME}/.wine/drive_c/windows/system32/msvcrt.dll

Realized my mistake when I looked at source under wine/dlls/msvcrt and found it
implemented.

Removing the msvrt native override in winecfg confirms both of the issues as
spurious.
