This bug was fixed (partially) prior to 1.7.20. It now displays a play button
in the upper right, is choppy, and does not pause, but the game no longer
freezes and is playable (except for other unrelated issues).

Either way, I am marking this as resolved because the freeze itself has been
rectified.
