--- Comment #6 from Alexey Loukianov mooroon2@mail.ru 2011-10-13 06:59:12 CDT --- I can confirm this one. Today I've got it with wine-1.3.30-10-gb0652dd but I had run into this one before with earlier versions of Wine. Problem manifests itself just like the bug title states: upon launch SC2 patches shows up intending to download and apply a new patch and then it simply and silently quits. There is nothing suspicious in logs.
If I keep trying running it again and again it would finally succeed to download and install the patch. Sometimes it succeeds at the second attempt, sometimes it is required to keep restarting it for quite a while.
I know the component which causes this bug to happen: it seems to be wininet. As soon as I install native wininet using winetricks - SC2 Patcher works as expected without any silent crashes.
Unfortunately there's no point in regression testing this bug due to it's inconstant nature: I had experienced this bug with a lot of different Wine versions since Feb 2011 (from the moment I had purchased SC2 and tried to play it under Wine).
