I have a similar problem with Microsoft Equation Editor 3 from Microsoft Office
2003 under wine 0.9.53. When I try to edit or insert a new equation object, the
Word gives a warning message that the application is not found and I should
make sure that it it properly installed.

I know that similar problems have users of the lates CrossOver Office.
