Bug #: 31334 Summary: ContactKeeper.exe crashes after wine1.4 update on Ubuntu12.04 amd64 image Product: Wine Version: 1.4 Platform: x86 OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: roger.tolhurst@tpg.com.au Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 41175 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=41175 debug at time of app crash
A recent wine 1.4 (July 24 2012) update broke a windows app (ContactKeeper.exe) that was working ok prior to update. (Program opens but crashes when menu items are accessed or even if porgram closed straight after opening).
Observation: ContactKeeper.exe depends on (ODBC) jet40 dlls. I noticed that: ~/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Microsoft Shared/.. became: ~/.wine/dosdevices/c:/Program Files (x86)/Common Files/Microsoft shared/.. after the update which is the path to the 'dao360.dll' file.
Tried changing dir name from "Microsoft shared" to "Microsoft Shared" but this did not resolve issue. ContactKeeper working again after I restored from (pre-wine updated) backup (and locked version of wine to prevent wine update from re-installing).
