crash in career mode, without sound

as i said, quickrace worked fine without sound, but when i started a career, i
could drive the first race, but after that, during the 2nd video, it crashed
again. this looks a lot like the first crash, so i wonder if sound really is
the troublemaker at all. at least it makes things worse.
