--- Comment #12 from Andreas Christ andreas.christ@runbox.com --- I assume that this bug concerns both the installation of the service packs as updates to an installed Office 2010 and a new install from a medium that already contains the service packs.
I tried the latter (Office 2010 Home & Student with SP1, Brazilian version) about a year ago on Debian 7 (amd64). Unfortunately, I do not remember which version of wine I tried. It was either 1.4 from the Debian repositories or a home made built of 1.6. The installer did not complete, so I assumed I was concerned by the bug reported here.
Today, I tried again on a recently installed system (now Debian 8, amd64) with wine 1.6.2 from the regular repositories. To my surprise, the installer completed, and Office is running.
However, I am not sure SP1 installed. The help screen shows the following version number: 14.0.6023.1000. There is no mention of any service pack.
With the exception of wine-staging, the system contains only packages from the official Debian repositories, and as mentioned above I was able to install Office with wine 1.6.2. (I have not yet been able to test any more recent builds of wine, such as wine-staging, because of a problem that is not related to the bug reported here.)
Maybe someone could try to reproduce this. If I can provide any additional information, please let me know.
