--- Comment #8 from Steve gp1@sredmond.com 2009-10-29 09:10:11 --- I can confirm that the initial menu rendering looks correct in Wine 1.1.31.
There are still problems with correct menu and cursor focus. For instance, the main program screen overlays the initial menu screen, while the initial screen retains focus waiting for input.
The Main screen is locked because the earlier screen has focus. Minimizing the main screen allows a user to see and close the initial menu, and then use the program -- but this is not an intuitive solution to what looks like a main screen without the ability to input anything.
More serious, perhaps is that when selecting a drawing file in the initial menu, the cursor no longer acts properly. Positioning the cursor over an entry and left clicking does not select it properly. A double-click does not open the drawing, as it would normally. A double click does select the item, and a triple click is required to open it. This behavior is a change from when the menu wasn't properly displayed. Though it was difficult to see controls and menu entries, mouse click behavior was normal then.
This selection behavior seems to also occur in program file browse menus.
TurboCad's drawing rendering is now apparently correct, and text is no longer displayed as giant letters in a drawing, with displacement and artifacts -- so whatever affected proper rendering in the opening menu, seems to have fixed drawing rendering in the main program as well. This program is very close to moving from bronze to gold.
One thing that prevents a usable (if not excellent) rating is that the program seems to freeze when a user attempts to alter "lighting" in a drawing. This function cannot also be set in properties without a porogram freeze.
At any rate, great progress! Gold is in sight.....
