Steam.exe (main exception): Win32 StructuredException at 0040BD70 : Attempt to read from virtual address 5 without appropriate access rights.
I tried the following from the command line, as suggested:
"Use wine C:\Program Files\Steam\SteamTmp.exe SelfUpdate "C:\Program Files\Steam\Steam.exe" 14 or play around with the filenames (go into steam folder and use) wine SteamTmp.exe SelfUpdate "Steam.exe" 14
That fixed it for me, but its still a problem with wine :)"
But I still get the error message (and no good output to the terminal, although I'll post it below just in case)
By the way, I'm using wine 0.9.20
