Somewhat, but it allows to see if misconfiguration is the problem, or if it is a wine bug. You could do: $ mv ~/.wine ~/.wine.bak $ wine newsleecher_setup.exe $ wine newsleecher.exe

Oh yeah, thanks for pointing that out.
So, I backed up wine and then reinstalled NL. Then I added in the license information to the registry and started the application. It came up after a few minutes, which was great news!
I then moved the data folder from the backup into the new working copy. This time, after NL initialized, it was back to the small box. So, whatever is doing it lies with the data folder of NL.
