Haven't tested extensively but I'll also confirm that I was able to login and
move around with

gentoo-sources-2.6.32-r1
Wine 1.1.43

I never turned off wldap from before so I'm going to give that a try after I
load one of the later releases of wine. :D

I will update later with a status.
