As of version 0.9.43, now the game isn't painfully slow and now it is "playable". The problem is that after moving around in the game, the scenario texture starts to disappear. After some time, the application crashes.
The message before crash is: fixme:d3d:IWineD3DDeviceImpl_UpdateSurface Surfaces has no allocated memory, but should be an in memory only surface
