Summary: python-2.4.2.msi won't install Product: Wine Version: 0.9.2. Platform: PC URL: http://python.org OS/Version: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-misc AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: wilson@afn.org
I installed the W95 InstMsiA.jexe from Microsoft (although I later read this may not be necessary). I added "msi" = "native, builtin" and "msiexec.exe" = "native, builtin" to ~/wine/config as suggested some shaman on one or another Voodoo pages. I invoked:
wine msiexec /i python-2.4.2.msi
Wine began spewing its normal "fixme ..." messages, but presented a dialog (with some missing components). After selecting a radio button and a "Next" button or two, I was presented with the bad news dialog: "Python 2.4.2 Installer ended prematurely", etc, etc.
