Microcap is powerful circuit simulator, developed commercially for nearly 40 years, which has been made available for use ay no cost in late 2019.
I've exercised it quite extensively today and the "only" thing which fails to work is file saving. I don't believe it is a deliberate limitation, since I've double checked and the full product seems to have been made available for free use without restriction.

The software can be downloaded from: www.spectrum-soft.com/download/download.shtm
Choose the "Full CD version", which contains files necessary for the program to run.
Steps to Reproduce: 1. Run program 2. Insert component (hit "r" for resistor, click on the sheet to place it and hit "ENTER" to close the Dialog) 3. Invoke the File/save menu item and attempt to save somewhere.
Result: The UI gives no error indication, but no file is created.
When hitting the "save" button in the save dialog, wine spits put
