Why are you requesting this feature for Staging specifically?
Because Staging is a bleeding-edge patchset with bunch of fixes.
Regular apstream wine more conservative.
Yeah, that's not really how it works.
I'm moving this to the Wine product. If and when the anticipated patches land in the Linux kernel, and if and when someone does write patches in Wine to take advantage of them, it might land in Staging first, or it might go directly upstream, depending on the disposition of the author and of the Wine maintainers.
I'll leave the arguments about the ideal arrangement of Staging to someone else.
