For some reason there is no winemp3.acm.so in v 1.33 and 1.35, that I have installed in playonlinux shell for wine. Manually copying winemp3.acm.so to ~/.PlayOnLinux/WineVersions/1.1.35/usr/lib/wine fixed the issue with slowdown and loss of background music.
