It instantly freezes in 1.2.3 up to the early 1.3 series. With the latest wine versions, including 1.4-rc1 it can play one song and then crashes just like the bug reporter claims, I tried 1by1 version 1.74 and 1.75.
HOWEVER, this might not be a regression. In 1.4-rc1 (and probably with some 1.3.* versions) if, before playing a song, you go to the settings -> audio and change the output from 'Direct Sound' to 'Wave Mapper' you can get it to play, pause, change songs, well everything with no crashes whatsoever. So I'm imagining that what happened to the bug reporter was something that changed his original configuration? Perhaps some update of the application or something on the wine side?
Well anyway, there's a workaround and I hope this gives sound devs some clues.
Thank you. I went into 1by1 Player settings, changed the "Output device" on the drop-down list to "Wave Mapper" and now 1by1 Player works properly with no problems at all. :)
I think "DirectSound" is the default setting, because I never changed the sound settings when I first tried 1by1 Player and it says "Default" next to "DirectSound", which you will see in the screenshot I'm about to upload.
