Weird, I got the same results with Wine 9.0 and 10.0rc2, with Wingdings and
some other fonts copied from Windows 10.
Attached is a screenshot of Wine 9.0.

With your current WinePrefix and Wine 9.0, can you still see a difference
between 9.0 and a later version like 9.3?
