I'm not setting the dxmode command-line option on launch. The video options
dialog in the game reports hardware level 8.1 and software level 9.0.

I'm on 0.9.50 now, but this has been occurring as long as I've had the game,
since 0.9.48.

One thing I haven't tried yet is disabling compiz while playing. I'll try that
and report back.
