For that matter, can you even provide more description? What "doesn't work"—creating a game, detecting one, joining one, or playing it? Which actual game is this? There's at least one remaster on Steam; is it that one? Can you attach a log with WINEDEBUG=+winsock,+server,+pid?
I tried joining a LAN game on "Heroes of Might and Magic III - HD edition" on Steam with wine 6.0-rc1, and it seemed to work just fine; I was able to find, join, and start a game there.
