FYI, I think 'platformer' is more common among English speakers.
Dear Austin, you are probably right. However, if we want to go down with 'platformer', I wouldn't call the subcategory Platformer Games, but simply Platformers. Instead, if we settle on 'platforms', I would call the subcategory Platform Games [1].
