..which actually represents starting the game, getting through the loading/menu selection screens, and then starting an actual scenario. The crash point is just after the main game window is displayed, at which stage the graphics would appear to be frozen & not accepting mouse/keyboard input of any kind...shortly thereafter we crash...
..this is my older (C)LFS build running linux-2.6.34 & plain alsa for audio ; I can recreate this on a more recent (Debian 6) box if need be...
'winetricks dsoundbug9612' was set for this run (without such, process detaches and doesn't capture backtrace to log)
'winetricks d3dx9_35' was set for this run (without such, game never progresses beyond the 'Creating the world' loadscreen)
