Summary: jedit hangs on startup if ddraw is disabled Product: Wine Version: CVS/GIT Platform: Other URL: http://jedit.org OS/Version: other Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: wine-misc AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: dank@kegel.com
Running real Java apps under the latest Sun win32 JRE on Wine seems like a fine stress test, even though in many cases users should run with the Linux JRE instead. The Sun JRE and jEdit install ok, but jedit has many startup problems. The first one was bug 10913, and the second was bug 10914.
Here's the third one. Start it up like jedit.bat would have, but without using start or ddraw:
$ wine 'c:\windows\system32\javaw.exe' -Dsun.java2d.noddraw=true -Xms64M -Xmx192M -jar 'C:\Program Files\jEdit\jedit.jar' -reuseview
This hangs.
For completeness, the version of jedit used is the latest, jedit4.3pre12install.exe the version of the jre used is the latest, jre-6u3-windows-i586-p-s.exe and the problems seem the same both with yesterday's git and today's.
