Hello folks,
obviously still present. Updating some fields:
- corrected link to Wine-Staging patchset
- added more games affected by this to summary
Staging has some patch dependencies on https://github.com/wine-staging/wine-staging/blob/master/patches/ntdll- User_Shared_Data/definition
- Depends: ntdll-Hide_Wine_Exports
- Depends: ntdll-x86_64_ExceptionInformation
These are not needed for the apps/games listed here.
The dependencies are basically to make sure that all patches can be applied/compiled at once, so sometimes patchsets have 'dependencies' that aren't actually necessary.
I've tested/debugged with minimal patchsets from existing tickets and this one against vanilla Wine 3.4
I think the current maintainers of Wine-Staging, Alistair and Zebediah should talk with Alexandre about a feasible solution. A number of major games, especially from Blizzard require this feature to work. People will stick to Wine-Staging to be able to play their games with result that they run all their other stuff (apps) with Wine-Staging too.
It would indeed be nice if someone could come up with a feasible solution to this problem. I doubt that person will be me, however. Besides which there are many other widely-used staging patches that will be much easier to upstream.
