Bug #: 28669 Summary: SlingPlayer 2.0.4 fails to connect Product: Wine Version: 1.3.30 Platform: x86-64 URL: http://download.slingmedia.com/player/pc/SlingPlayer_2 .0.4522_Setup-Global.exe OS/Version: Linux Status: NEW Keywords: download Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown AssignedTo: wine-bugs@winehq.org ReportedBy: kennybobs@o2.co.uk Blocks: 18556, 23082 Classification: Unclassified
Created attachment 36845 --> http://bugs.winehq.org/attachment.cgi?id=36845 wine-1.3.30-45-ga843ace console output
SlingPlayer 2.0.4 cannot connect to the Slingbox, despite the native quartz.dll workaround for bug 18556. There isn't anything to give a clue in the console output.
The Slingplayer reports "There was a problem communicating with the Slingbox. Please try connecting again."
Tried native qcap but it makes no difference.
Wireshark shows that the Slingplayer and the Slingbox do exchange data before failing, but it is not clear what that data is. Slingplayer 1.5 can stream (but has problems with sound).
This never happened before, but I went back to Wine 1.2.3 and the same problem occurs. Perhaps something has changed in the Slingplayer (which updates itself during install) or in Ubuntu that is affecting this app.
Will keep looking.
