--- Comment #10 from Andrew Aladjev aladjev.andrew@gmail.com 2012-06-17 14:54:47 CDT --- I am writing from enemy territory: windows 8 (I have it in dualboot) I've installed game the same method as on wine and trying to run it in compability to windows 7 and windows xp. it doesn't work! lol XD
I've searched for "SystemInformation.xml" and "BioWare" dir after install - no such file and dir After unsuccessful attempt to run game: exists BioWare\Mass Effect\Config\BioEngine.ini Completely the same as on wine! I will try to "talk" with 1C's support about it o_O
But then I've tried to launch Binaries/MassEffect.exe directly. On wine it threw an exception in graphical mode (I will post a screenshot later) and I've decided that MassEffectLauncher.exe is real launcher of the game and I shouldn't run MassEffect.exe directly, but I was wrong! o_O
When I've launched Binaries/MassEffect.exe directly (all compabilities to other windows versions is off) it suddenly launched Binaries/protect.exe and say to me: "we should install protection first", I've pressed "ok", disc was verified and game starts just fine! (>_<) I am real angry now
You can close this issue but dont delete it. I will show it to 1C support and its shameful "developers"
