Same problem. Worked okay while I had my game running today, then I rebooted. Updated to 1.5.8 in the mean time and all subsequent attempts have crashed after hitting "Start Game". Running Fedora 17 with Wine 1.5.8 32bit.
Crashed right after this on console:
fixme:heap:HeapSetInformation 0x21451000 0 0xaa3af9c 4 err:seh:raise_exception Exception frame is not in stack limits => unable to dispatch exception.
I don't think this is the same bug.
You're right, that was a different problem. I updated to 1.5.9 and it fixed the previous problem I had starting a game. Now I'm seeing the crash described in this bug, though. Right at turn 145 with G+K expansion and the DLC enabled (Bluetooth, etc).
I'll attach the error in a separate comment.
