The game install file can be downloaded directly from the vendor website here
for testing:

http://cdnfiles.ootpdevelopments.com/ootp/ootp20/ootp20setup_fastspring.exe

After successful installation using wine, the crash will occur at attempted
launch of the game, before the screen requesting registration key ever even
appears. So crash-testing can be done without purchase/registration.
