Adobe Photoshop CS2 serious error.

I was successfully running Adobe Photoshop CS2 under Ubunto 12.04. After
installing Ubunto 14.04 the app was not restored. On re-installing CS2 the app
would no longer fully load; it would open the CS2 window and splash screen,
then it would fail with a serious error.
