I've been using the latest stable Nvidia drivers with development releases of Wine for years without seeing this message. That is, until today when I compiled 1.7.35.
1.7.34 was running with nvidia 340.65 previously. When 1.7.35 started showing this, I upgraded my driver to 346.35 (also stable) released recently. No change in behaviour.
In 1.7.34, I was able to load Dead Space 3. However in 1.7.35, the game no longer runs with an error along the lines of my video card not meeting the game's minimum requirements.
Reverting commit 8e9e4a657f29ff018c6296ced1f115ca8731e5e6 allows the game to run again.
Based on your description it sounds like a regression. Please open a separate bug report, this one already exists for more than a year. Also please add me and the author of the patch as CC.
