crash after fresh install of MS Money 99

After updating from 8.0.2 to the new 9.0 release MS Money 99, which has worked
very well before, stopped working.

It starts up, plays it's start-up chime and then immediately exists (no crash
dump), with those messages appearing in the console:

I tried a fresh install of the application as well. In that case the
application crashes, producing the attached backtrace.
