The elder developers have had a look at this bug, and have determined it to be due to bugs in the Xorg X server.. They have contacted the developers of X and are working on a fix, but in the meantime, your best bet is to roll your X install back (if possible) to Xorg 6.8.1.. That worked for me, and I am having no problems. I should highly advised you that if you do that though, you could be potentially exposing yourself to attack, due to the bugs that were fixed in 6.8.2, and that is a risk that I am willing to take only because my linux box is not something essential....
