Bug ID: 48333 Summary: Logos Bible Software Indexing fails Product: Wine Version: 5.0-rc2 Hardware: x86 OS: Linux Status: UNCONFIRMED Severity: normal Priority: P2 Component: -unknown Assignee: wine-bugs@winehq.org Reporter: johnpgoodman@gmail.com Distribution: ---
Logos Bible Software is a bit like Kindle but with a focus on theological books that are all hyperlinked and indexed for fast research. To function the software must index the books (often thousands) to enable fast searches. Every time a new book is added indexing must take place.
Logos Bible software works very well (bronze) on wine but it is necessary to set win version to xp and 32bit for indexing to succeed. The 64bit version of the app runs with win version set to 7 but regardless of the win version setting indexing fails.
The Logos indexer runs in a separate process with the following command: WINEPREFIX=/home/$USER/.wine-logos/ wine c:'/users/$USER/Local Settings/Application Data/Logos/System/LogosIndexer.exe'
Note if the index is already created it will complete immediately. Otherwise it runs in the system tray and has a simple menu that allows indexing to be paused temporarily.
Error messages attached.
